Best Time to Travel to Slovakia

The peak visiting months are May, June and September, with April and October having colder and sometimes better economical alternatives. From October or November until March or April, most castles, museums and other tourist attractions, and some associated accommodation and transport, close down. Due to the winters typically linger around 0°C (32°F); as a result, it gets quite icy in the mountains at night.

The damp climate over the majority of the Slovak Republic is accountable for warm, raining summers, chilly, snowy winters, and usually changeable conditions. Higher altitudes create cooler weather and added snow in the winters. Summers everywhere are sunny and pleasurable, when planning your trip one major factor to keep in mind is that air conditioning is not common.
