Best Time to Travel to Croatia

May to September is the best months to visit Croatia when talking about weather conditions, although July and August can be busy along the Adriatic coast. September is possibly the most favorable month to tour Croatia since by then the crowds will be thinned out, off-season rates will be in effect and fruits such as figs and grapes are plentiful. In April and October, it may be too cool for camping, but the weather is more often than not fine along the coast and private rooms are ample and inexpensive. You can swim in the sea from the middle of June to late September.

The climate varies from Mediterranean along the Adriatic coast to continental inland. The sunny coastline areas have hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The high shoreline mountains help to safeguard the coast from the cold northerly winds, creating an early spring and a late autumn. In Zagreb, the average daily high temperatures peaks at 27°C (80°F) in July and drops to 2°C (35°F) in January. Any time from April through October is fine for touring.
