The best time of year to go to Syria is in the spring months of March to May, this is when the weather is pleasant and the wildflowers are in bloom. Autumn generally lasts from September through November; this is the next-best choice for visiting, between the extreme heat of summer and the cloud of winter. If you go in summer, in the months of June through August, do not forget your hat, sunscreen and water bottle, especially if you are going to Palmyra or the northeast. Coastal areas like Lattakia can get tremendously humid, whereas the interiors will be extremely hot and dry. Winter can also be quite unpleasant. The winter rains make it difficult for sightseeing.
