Best Time to Travel to Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan does not fool around in the thermometer department. A July day in the desert will average around the 32°C (90°F) mark, plummeting to nearly half that in the evening; luckily the low humidity keeps the days from being too tremendous. In the winter, the days might get to -9°C (16°F) before it dives to an icy -15°C (5°F) at night. Higher altitudes have slight effect on the conditions, with hardly warmer winters and cooler summers, although they do see more rainfall, mainly in the east around April and May. Snow will generally start to fall around November and the mountains pack with snow until April, sometimes even May.
